The Rainbird Fine Art Gallery is situated in Clerkenwell on the main artery connecting Hoxton/ Shoreditch with the West End of London and is also very near the heart of Europe's busiest financial centre. The area of Clerkenwell is often compared these days to New York's gallery areas of Chelsea and SoHo and the gallery has constant passing trade, much of it being professional people. The gallery maintains an adventurous policy regarding its exhibitions and tries not to be pigeonholed in the type of work exhibited. Regular customers appreciate the changing style and content of the exhibitions and many have commented that it is one of the most unpretentious and friendly galleries they have dealt with.
The gallery itself consists of approximately 1000 sq ft arranged on two floors with an extensive and interesting layout of wall space. The upper floor has higher ceilings where we place the larger pieces. From Clerkenwell Road you enter the reception gallery which leads through to the rear ground floor gallery and a stairway leading down to the lower passageway areas and lower rear gallery. Farringdon station, with its connections to the London Underground and Thameslink services, is only a couple of minutes walk away.
Artists wishing to exhibit
We ask artists who may like to exhibit, either at the gallery or at RainbirdFineArt.com, to please visit our About page and read the section 'Artists Wishing To Exhibit'. We can only respond to initial enquiries that are submitted as requested.
Gallery Hire
The gallery can be hired by artists or out of town galleries for exhibitions or by companies for evening functions. Please see Business Services for further information.
Fresh Art
The 'Fresh Art' exhibitions at Rainbird are an initiative to help artists develop their reputations and a profile of exhibiting in a London gallery by being able to hire wallspace by the metre in professionally organised exhibitions. These exhibitions can act as good 'sounding out' boards insofar that if an artist's work proves popular we may be able to offer a more formal arrangement of exhibiting in our main gallery exhibitions. We hold these Fresh Art exhibitions three or four times a year and if artists wish to receive details we ask that they contact us on the dedicated email address of freshart@rainbirdfineart.com asking to be sent information. We do ask that artists who may apply should be fully professional in their business dealings and work on good quality materials. Please note that artists must be UK residents and at this time we cannot accept photography, sculpture or any type of digital prints in these exhibitions.
